Director of Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety, and Capital Expenditures

Scott Buterbaugh serves as the Director of Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety, and Capital Expenditures at Ferroworks LLC. Scott has been a leader at the company since 1996, beginning his career at the McKees Rocks facility. Over the years, he has grown alongside the organization through many transitions.

In his current role, Scott leads a range of initiatives focused on operational efficiency, lean transformation, and workplace safety. He works closely with cross-functional teams to implement transformation plans rooted in lean methodology and strategic planning. His oversight also includes focusing on return on investment for new equipment and automation.

Under Scotts leadership, McConway & Torley became one of the only steel foundries in the country to achieve VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) certification – reflecting a commitment to exceeding standard safety requirements.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Safety Sciences. Along with these, Scott has been able to achieve the certifications of Certified Safety Professional (CSP), as well as Special Government Employee (SGE). He is able to translate high-level strategic goals into actionable shop-floor results with ease.

Scott’s vision for Ferroworks is grounded in sustainable growth, continuous improvement, and market diversification. He remains committed to driving Ferroworks toward operational excellence and long-term profitability.
